Yes, we are asking YOU to donate.

Every little bit helps, give what you can. Financial donations are best as it lets the professionals at The Haven and Listen make the purchases they need for the food that is in demand at any given moment.

That said, we will also be accepting non-perishable food donations at our sponsor locations.

We are a community of abundance, we can absolutely afford to help those who are not so fortunate or have fallen on hard times.

  • The Upper Valley Haven has been providing shelter, food, and support to families and individuals since 1980. That’s 46 years!

  • With the support of the Upper Valley community, the Haven assists those who are experiencing poverty to be free from hunger, to be securely housed, and to pursue a self-directed life. The Haven serves more than 10,000 people each year.

  • The Haven never charges for any of their services, and primarily relies on gifts from the community.

  • With 1/6 children in VT and NH facing hunger, and gas/grocery prices through the roof, The Haven helps fill the gap for Upper Valley households that are working hard and doing their best.

  • The food insecurity rate in VT is 13%, and 11% in NH, according to Feeding America.

  • Many of the folks coming to the Haven’s Food Market each day have jobs, and just need some supplemental food so they don’t have to choose between groceries and rent.

  • The Upper Valley Haven’s Food Market has no income requirements, no long paperwork, and is open to everyone. You can just stop in, answer a couple quick questions, and grab a week’s worth of food for your family each month. You can also stop in every weekday for fresh produce and bread.

  • Last year, the Haven provided food for over 3,400 households across the Upper Valley.

  • Last year, the Haven helped connect more than 600 households to housing, employment, transportation, and health resources, all to help Upper Valley families work towards stability.

  • Last year, the Haven provided shelter for 18 families and 46 individuals.

  • Last year, the Haven helped 101 households move into permanent housing.

  • The Haven’s new emergency shelter on Main Street in White River will provide 20 beds every night for those who have no where else to go. The new building will also have a resource center to help people work towards their goals of housing, employment, and more. It will be opening in the coming weeks.

  • The Haven’s Children Programs let kids in their shelters enjoy educational and hands-on adventures, giving their parents time to focus on securing housing.
